IXUS 130 features a 28mm wide-angle and 4x optical zoom lens, as well as a built-in optical image stabilizer, enabling users to capture a much wider shooting range, while avoiding blurry images due to the problem of slight shaking when shooting distant objects.

2.7-inch 230,000-dot PureColor II LCD
IXUS 130 features the new 2.7-inch PureColor II G LCD with 230,000-dot resolution, the newly designed LCD is affixed and protected with reinforced glass. Space between the glass and the LCD is minimized, making the reflection of light reduced. This allows users to shot from different angles and results in a slimmer camera body.

14.1-megapixel CCD
IXUS 130 features 14.1-megapixel CCD image sensor, which can record the most detailed and impeccable images up to A3 photo printings. The ultra-high megapixel resolution is capable for capturing the finest detail in noise reduced clarity.

Slim Camera Body of only 17.8mm
IXUS 130 is only 17.8mm in thickness, making it the slimmest digital compact camera in IXUS series. Even with a slimmer camera body, the traditional linear optical system is kept to ensure the image quality.

DIGIC 4 Digital Image Processor
The new models are powered by Canon's DIGIC 4 Digital Image Processor, which possesses high algorithm power capable of processing massive and complex image data in a shorter time span. The overall performance is improved by 30% when compared to DIGIC III, and brings speedily start-up time and quicker response time, such as 3 times faster face detection accuracy and tracking performances and 10 times quicker for motion detection. DIGIC 4 also takes the noise reduction processing algorithms to the next level and further enhances the image quality.

Enhanced Scene Detection technology, with Smart Flash Exposure
The Scene Detection Technology can detect portrait, distance, light source, color temperature and moving subjects, and automatically determine the optimum shooting scene for greatest images among the different pre-set scene modes. Detecting not only general subjects like portraits, landscapes or macro objects, it can also detect daylight, night scenes, sunset or backlit conditions and adjust to different shooting modes.
IXUS 130 also features the Enhanced Scene Detection Technology, cooperated with the support of Motion Detection Technology, i-Contrast Technology and Face Detection Technology, even the subjects are moving under a bright, backlit or blue skies, the camera can automatically determine the best shooting setting. Focus and exposure, as well as white balance, ISO settings and dynamic range can be adjusted automatically, which no manual setting is needed for a guarantee of vivid and sharp images.
New Smart Flash Exposure can detect the shooting condition with Scene Detection Technology, and automatically modify settings such as flash output, flash synchro speed and ISO speed. It can effectively solve the problems of uneven exposure of built-in flash, as well as overexposing or underexposing subjects and scenery in the background, resulting in more precise exposure and more natural color photos.

Face Detect AiAF function, with Blink Detection function
Face Detect AiAF Technology is capable of tracking up to 9 faces. The camera can track on an individual in the composition and optimize the focus, white balance, flash and exposure setting, ensuring the best portraits with the most natural and smooth skin tone.
The camera can also automatically detect blinked eyes and alert users to capture the perfect moment.

New Smart Shutter, with Face, Smile and Wink Self-Timer
IXUS 130 is equipped with the new Smart Shutter Mode, by cooperating with Face Detect AiAF Technology, Face Self-Timer can automatically detect every single face in the frame and adjust to the right focus and exposure. The shutter will be released two seconds after the new face enters the frame. It becomes handy easy now to take beautiful photos in front of a desired background, and people's face will always be in sharp focus.
IXUS 130 also features the new Wink and Smile Self-Timer, which is capable of detecting small changes of facial expression like blinked eyes and smiles, and automatically operating the shutter for shooting. After the first detected face blinking or smiling to the camera, the camera will automatically optimize the focus as well as exposure and release the shutter after 2 seconds. It helps to avoid embarrassing problems such as shaking hand or missing out any precious shooting moments, ensuring every happy smiling face is captured clearly.

New Low Light Shooting mode, support ISO 6400 High ISO Speed
IXUS 130 is equipped with the new Low Light shooting mode@ which can boost ISO sensitivity to ISO 6400. Even shooting is taking place in dark or low light environment where flash is not allowed, dim light can also be gathered in order to capture bright and clear images.

Motion Detection function, with Intelligent ISO Speed Setting and Servo AF function
Motion Detection Technology can automatically detect the moving or static subjects in the picture and adjust for the optimum ISO speed to shoot. When shooting moving subject, the camera will adjust to a higher ISO speed that shorten the time of exposure to minimize camera shake and image blur, while lowering the ISO speed to minimize noise for static subject for clear and sharp images.
IXUS 130 further features Servo AF function. When pressing the shutter button halfway to lock focus of subject, even if the subject moves, the camera will continue to focus. Linked with high face tracking performance, this means beautiful, sharp pictures could always be achieved whenever the shutter button is fully pressed.

High Definition 1,280 x 720 movie shooting
IXUS 130 supports H.264 codec movie shooting, recording MOV format HD movie at 30fpsΔ and 1280 x 720 resolutions. The advance H.264 codec MOV format movie reduces 40% file size of the normal AVI format. High image quality is maintained while optimizing file size compression.

New Fish-eye and Miniature Effect
Shooting can be even more fun now, new IXUS 130 is incorporated with Miniature and Fish-eye Effects for creation of special photos, users can now capture more creative and interesting photos. After selecting the subject, the Miniature Effect blurs the background areas and emphasizes the subject, creating a similar effect of miniature models captured by Tilt-Shift Lens. While the Fish-eye Effect intentionally expands the central area of an image to create an interesting convex effect. Users can choose from three levels, Low, Medium and High, for different level of enlargement and convexity to make great fun of different effects.

Enhanced i-Contrast function for keeping more image details
With the superior algorithm power of DIGIC 4, IXUS 130 allows the users to shoot under backlit or in the shade that the distance exceeds a flash outreach, and automatically brighten up face and background that are backlit appropriately, promising harmonious images.
Users are also allowed to change the level of correction for the images during playback by selection from Auto, High, Medium or Low to satisfy particular photographic needs.

SDXC memory card supported
IXUS 130 supports the ultra high-capacity SDXC memory cards with a maximum storage capacity of 2 TB. With the rapid data transfer rates and large storage capacity, you can now save additional images and videos of high quality.

Built-in HDMI-mini terminal for easy connection to HDTV
IXUS 130 provides HDMI-mini interface for convenient direct connection of cameras to various HD equipment or screens to display high-resolution photos or HD movie in 16:9 format.

New slim 40m waterproof case WP-DC37, switching to Underwater mode automatically
IXUS 130 is compatible with the newly designed waterproof case WP-DC37, with the size and weight reduced by 28% and 75g respectively compared to WP-DC33 used by IXUS 120 IS. Once fitting the camera into the case, it will switch to Underwater mode automatically. Using different ways to switch on the camera leads users to different shooting mode, including Beach and Snow, even users without experience of using the waterproof case can operate without difficulties.

Direct Printing and Sharing
For photo prints and share without uploading to computer, IXUS 130 fully supports PictBridge for direct printing and fast file uploads. It also features hi-speed USB 2.0 interface for easy sharing of images and videos.
